Materramenta was the nickname of the area's first owner. In his honor, Luís named his wines after him. It is a unique wine from the small wine region of Biscoitos.

Winemakers Constantine Ramos & Luis Vasco Cunha
Background Luís Vasco Cunha took over his family's vineyards on the Azorean island of Terceira as a hobby. He named the new project after the island's first inhabitant. Luís, who has multiple businesses in the Azores, wanted to be more involved with his homeland and the local producers and traditions.
Vineyards The vineyards in the Biscoitos wine region on Terceira island are characterized by their volcanic soil. The sea has a major influence on the vineyards. The vineyards are surrounded by stacked magma stones, the so-called 'curraletas'.
