Winemakers Constantine Ramos & Luis Vasco Cunha

Background Luís Vasco Cunha took over his family's vineyards on the Azorean island of Terceira as a hobby. He named the new project after the island's first inhabitant. Luís, who has multiple businesses in the Azores, wanted to be more involved with his native soil and local producers and traditions. 

Vineyards The vineyards are located on the small island of Graciosa in the Azores. On the 'White Island,' as Graciosa is also called, there is more lime in the soil. This soil, combined with the volcanic rock and the mild climate with the influences of the sea, produces beautiful and unique wines. Also on the island of Graciosa, the unique walled vineyards can be found; the curraletas as they are called here.
