Winemaker Charles Aubert
Background Charles (1993) worked as a pilot for the French Air Force until his father had a heart attack. Charles decided to continue his family's vineyards, which his great-grandfather started in 1926. He was given the freedom to apply his vision to the vineyard. A renovated winery and complete autonomy and freedom to worthily continue the family estate. In addition to his work as a winemaker, Charles is an active reservist. Charles makes his biodynamic wines in three wine regions: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cairanne, and Côte du Rhône Village Plan de Dieu.
Vineyard The biodynamic vineyards in Cairanne have a unique soil of marl, gravel, and small pebbles. The vines are 45 years old and are located on a south-facing slope.
Vinification After harvesting, fermentation occurs on indigenous yeasts. After this, the wine ages for eight months in concrete sur lie. After this aging, the wine continues to age in the bottle.
