Background Casa da Tojeira is a beautiful 17th-century country house, located in the breathtaking Peneda-Gerês National Park. Since its establishment, grape cultivation has been practiced for the production of delicious wines. Today, Casa da Tojeira focuses on the production of exclusive Vinho Verdes, including a delightful barrel-aged white vinho verde and enticing red varieties. The house also serves as a picturesque event venue and boutique hotel.
Vineyards Conventional vineyards located in the interior of Portugal at an altitude of 250 - 350 meters above sea level. The vineyards have a soil of schist and clay.
Vinification The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed, followed by a gentle pressing. The must is then inoculated with selected yeasts. Fermentation lasts 15 to 20 days and takes place at a controlled temperature of 22 to 25 degrees Celsius. Afterwards, the wine matures for eight months in American oak barrels.
