Background The vineyards date back to 1881 and Fran's grandfather has been making the wines himself since 1940. In 1991, the current winery was built. Together with his wife Julia María, they have been making the wines since 2007 and from 2013 entirely in his own style. On 40 hectares, 7 different grape varieties grow, mainly Tempranillo and Tempranillo Blanco.

Vineyards The vineyards are located around the village of San Asensio. Relatively flat, but at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. The vineyards are on sandy and limestone soils.

Harvest Manual

Vinification Harvesting takes place in the early morning. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for 6 months in 1 and 2-year-old French oak barrels of 500 litres. A total of 925 bottles were made from the 2020 harvest.
