Winemaker Valentine & Charlotte Picant with the help of Derenoncourt Consultants
Background Yves (Valentine and Charlotte's father) bought the house and land in 1986 as a country house. He saw potential in the region and the soil and wanted to show the new face of Bordeaux. Modern, dynamic and accessible became the main goals. Gastronomic wines with an eye for sustainability led them to their success.
Vineyard Valentine and Claire's organic vineyards are located in the easternmost part of Bordeaux. The vineyards are sheltered between the woods, where wildlife and nature can peacefully thrive. The soil consists of clay combined with slate. The vineyards are located in a 'valley', from 50 to 150 meters above sea level. The vines for this wine are 20 - 25 years old, planted from the year 2000.
Vinification Both fermentation and aging take place in 400-liter French oak barriques for 10 months with bâtonnage. The different grape varieties are fermented separately.
