Winemaker Claire Dufau
Background Domaine de Maouries, located in the Madiran region of Southwest France, encompasses 26 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 180 to 220 meters. Claire Dufau leads the family business with dedication to traditional viticulture and respect for nature. The vineyards benefit from clay and limestone soils and a moderate climate, ideal for grape varieties such as Tannat, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Manseng. Domaine de Maouries produces powerful Madiran wines that are appreciated both locally and internationally for their quality and authentic character.
Vineyards Claire's organic vineyards (and HVE) are located around their farm in the rolling landscape of Saint Mont and Madiran. The vineyards have clay and slate soil and are located at an altitude of 180 to 220 meters above sea level. The vineyards in Saint Mont are south-facing. The vines for this wine were planted in the 1990s.
